Who We Are

Resources, Performance and Opportunities.

  • A dá sí”, is a phrase in Yoruba which means ‘we get involved’.
  • ‘in Hausa is muka shiga tsakani,
  • ‘in Igbo is ka any tinye aka.

A D A S I” is also an acronym for 'ADopt A School Initiative' founded and operated in conjunction with the Folusho & Yemisi Oyinlola Foundation (FYOF) and embodies the vision of its Founders to continue the legacy of their parents Foluso & Yemisi Oyinlola (of blessed memory) and the Oyinlola Dynasty’s progenitor – Oba Moses Oyewole Oyinlola (Olokuku of Okuku, 1934 – 1960) who laid a strong foundation for the education of his children and grandchildren during his lifetime.

Through ADASI, we pay tribute to the Oyinlola Dynasty’s generational contribution to education and also forge a path for future generations to benefit from enhanced educational opportunities.

Our Vision

ADASI wants every child in Nigeria to have good education and reach their full potential. We’re starting in Osun State  to evaluate and improve our approach. Our ambition is to adopt 1 school in each of the 30 local government areas of Osun State. Our first project is in Okuku, Odo-Otin LGA. From there, we plan to help 30 schools across Osun State in three years – we call this #Osun30.

Our “Big Hairy Audacious Goal” is #Nigeria774 – to adopt one school in each of Nigeria’s 774 local government areas over 7-10 years. We aim to be the most effective Nigerian-led non-profit education impacting foundation, not just in Osun or Nigeria, but hopefully across Africa.

We collaborate closely with communities to improve schools. Our goal is not simply better buildings, but to help create future leaders and innovators who will make Osun State, Nigeria and Africa better.

Our Mission

ADASI works to give every child a chance to learn and grow at a pace higher than current, by supporting grassroots and local government schools with infrastructure upgrade, technology, mentorship, exchange programs, training and more. We aim to empower and support schools that are inclusive, purpose driven and work well with their communities. We start in Osun State, then Nigeria but hope to help schools across Africa. We believe in teamwork, with communities, teachers, parents and ADASI Citizens – because together, we can do great things.

Our plan starts in Okuku, Osun State. We’ll then spread to all 30 local government a areas in Osun, the Southwest, and eventually all 774 local areas in Nigeria. Our big dream is to help schools all over Africa. When we ‘adopt’ a school, we give it the support it needs. We want to make schools where students feel inspired and ready for the future, by creating an enabling environment that fires up creativity, innovation and a world class learning experience.
